Problem Video Capture

Post by Quasar »

I have a problem whit the video capture.
I have a pinnacle MediaBox Deluxe and when I try to change the Current Device to either MS 1394 Device Control or TI 1394 Device Control I get a message "Unable to open the specified device. Please check if your device is ready".
I have the latest MSP7 upgrade SP2.1.

Is the MediaBox Deluxe a Firewire 1394 card??

If it's a Firewire 1394 card, look for Control Panel/System/Device Manager in Windows and check the driver of the card. If the driver of the 1394 card is not OHCI-Complaint IEEE 1394 Host Controller, then change the driver to be that and see if it works.

Hope this helps.

@Quasar,

Pinnacle Hardware (and Canopus, too) is well known for using only proprietary drivers, which don't can be controlled from most other software vendors.

I have here a Studio DeLuxe edition (Firewire and analog in/out).

Firewire works well with all aothers, but analog only with Pinnacle Studio and scLive (perhaps you give scLive a try ?)
