Animating titles in MSP8 - keyframes?

Post by kcwdad »

Is there a tutorial, or some obvious dialog box I'm missing, on how to control the application of animations to titles in MSP8? e.g.

- Applying two effects to same block of text (e.g. one for how it builds, another for how it fades)? When I choose to apply the 2nd, it removes the 1st.

- Controlling when the animation begins/finishes building, when it fades...?
I don't see any key frame controls, and I can't see how the jog bar is controlling anything... I suspect I'm missing something obvious, or that title animations just aren't as flexible as video transition, moving path and filter effects... (in which case my workaround will be to split the same title into multiple clips, each w/ their own effects...).

To fade in AND out, you can apply transparency overlays which give you tight keyframe control

Maybe there is an easier way to do this...which I would be eager to learn also.

Some of the animations give you a user defined pause (in the dialog box accessed by double clicking the animation) and then you can highlight the text and move the slider controls under the preview box.

What I have found works best for me many times though is to apply your entry animation, then copy and past your text to the next time slot and then go in, highlight, and remove the animation (still text - your pause time). Then copy it one more time for the next time slot and go in, highlight your text and apply your exit animation. It give you very tight control and works seemlessly.

Good luck!
