newbie - need help with Recommended Procedure

Post by saswilson »

Just a quickie, why is it that when I create disc then insert a video file in this case a mpeg that is 400mb, the bar at the bottom jumps up to 2.2gb?
I have followed the recommended procedure, made sure the compression settings are the same. I know Im missing something but cant figure it out. If this helps -

MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 7000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 192 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)

The only thing I need changing is to PAL but would that change the file size?
Please help

Im using PAL

The same happens when I create disc and import a DVD that is no bigger than 500mb - the bar goes up to over 2gb. Again I have made sure that the compression settings are the same. Any ideas

I am confused, doesn't take much i know.

Where did you get the video file from?
Did you create it from Share create video file?
What version of VS are you using?

MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 7000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 192 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)

How long is the video file, frames or seconds.?

Sorry Trevor, Ive sorted it now. I changed the Project Settings to NTSC and then imported the mpeg like maddrummer said. The bar now reads it correctly and Im good to go! Thanks
