flaming letters?

Post by meshuken »

Anyone know if there is a set of flaming fonts, you know letters that look like they are on fire that I can use in VS10+?

Thanks,

No but I I know that you can create them in Cool3D PS. I'm not sure about the free version of Cool3D that comes with VS10 +, you might check it out.

Just Google "flame fonts" (w/o the quotes) and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Yes, the Cool 3D program that comes on the Bonus CD of VS10+ can produce the flaming letters.

Hi Bryan, thanks for your reply - is there a tutorial to tell you how to do animated flaming letters in Cool3D?

Hi Trevor, thanks for the link...

Problem: Under my Global selection I only have two choices, "Shadow" and "Motion Blur" - Oddly enough my Cool3D help window says I should have Fire Effect as one of the plug-ins but obviously it didn't install.

Any ideas where to find it? I do have the original installation disk but I'm a little unsure of how to locate and install just the fire plug-in

Thanks again,

Hi

I have installed cool 3d from the disc and have the same Global choices as you.

I have searched ulead, found a fire plug-in, but does not seem to work with this version.

http://www.ulead.com/cool3d/free.htm

july 2002 has a fire plug-in but this does not create the library folder.

I think we need v 3.5

The bonus COOL 3D version in UVS is COOL 3D 3.0 SE, which means it's function limited and would have less plug-ins. You need to upgrade to get more plug-ins and features.

You can choose to upgrade to:

Ulead COOL 3D 3.5:
http://www.ulead.com/cool3d/

or

Ulead COOL 3D Production Studio:
http://www.ulead.com/c3ds/

You can also get some plug-ins for the full purchased COOL 3D version.

Plug-In Madness 2:
http://www.ulead.com/c3ds/viewplugin.htm

Plug-In Madness 3:
http://www.ulead.com/c3ds/viewplugin3.htm

These plug-ins would work for both COOL 3D and COOL 3D Production Studio.

Hope this helps.

Hi

No i do not think that helps.

What you are really saying is that when purchasing VS 10, the free cool3d that comes with that product, is that old that it is no use what so ever.

In fact ulead have given a product that does not work to the present standards.

Offering version v3.5 would have been a better option.

Version 3 tutorials clearly show the FIRE plugs as being available.

How come we cannot get this feature.

Not very impressed

Why does the version of Cool3D that I bought with VS10+ come with a tutorial on how to produce flaming letters? It's almost as if Ulead meant to include the plug-in but forgot to put them in there. While I appreciate the features of 3.0 I guess it's really just a partial ad for 3.5

I'm sorry to let you guys down.

I'm not sure if COOL 3D 3.0 SE has the fire effect or not, I'm only sure that C3D 3.5 and C3DPS has it. That's why I list the product links in my previous post.

Sorry again if it does not help much.

It is normal practice for software companies to 'give away' older or limited versions. They are a taster to entice you to purchase the current full version.
If you pop along to a large PC store - such as 'PC World' you will find the brand new Computer you are purchasing full of loads of exciting sounding software. However - apart from the actual Windows Operating System - you will soon discover all of that 'Free software' is already out of date!

And we won't even go into the question of the original advertising of VS10 when it first came on the market! For the first few weeks, it said that Cool 3D 3.5 was bundled with VS10, but in fact it turned out to be the same version 3.0 which has been bundled with VS since at least VS7...

I can also attest that Cool 3D Production Studio definitely does burning letters, and does them well. Just takes absolutely ages to render a final file -- around 40 minutes or more for a 10 second title, IIRC!!!

The Ulead Website contains lots of free templates and effects for Cool 3D (they work with version 3, 3.5 and PS), though I confess I can't recall if they include any fire effects... I am away from my main computer so can't check.
