What do you mean with photoshop actions? If you are talking about plugins, the older ones can be used/imported into PI the newer ones from CS will not work with PI.

Like Heinz-oz stated if you are referring the plug-ins, then the new plug-ins included with or written for Photoshop CS, no they will not, not even with PI-12.

Actions won't work with PI.
Plug-ins, you have to try, even the latest ones can work flawlessly, especially if they are supposed to run also with Adobe plugin compliant software, like fe. Paint Shop Pro.

The reason why "Actions" will not work is quite simple.
In some computer programs these things are termed macros. You record a sequence of keystrokes and/or mouse movements - sort of like tape recorded a TV show. You then play it back - so that those same keystrokes etc are performed again on another photograph or graphic.

Obviously these keystrokes will be completely different when using someone elses software.

Plug-ins are a different kettle of fish - essentially these are bolt on programs designed to perform a particular purpose.

Thanks Steve, at least now we know what the OP meant by "actions"...

What I've read, and I think in this forum, is that Adobe changed something with the "CS" plug-ins, so that they will not work in other software. Most all the previous "Photoshop compatible" plug-ins will.

PS Actions are not compatible with PIs Tasks for the reasons stated above. But if you know what the Action does you most probably CAN duplicate the commands in PIs very powerfull Task engine. I put Ulead down quite a bit but that's because they have a more powerfull program than PS and I expect a lot more from them.

Need help, PM me anytime.
