vsp File Format

Post by alnrelly »

I have created a project that has a whole bunch (over 100) of scenes on the timeline from the one source file. Unfortunatly I captured the source file at a low res file format (MPEG1) by mistake. I have now recaptured the source as a DV avi (It starts about 8 frames later than the original). There seems to be no way in Video Studio to say replace all instances of clip X on the timeline with clip Y, keeping the same cut in and out times, but adjust them by 8 frames.

If the .vsp file format was human readable I guess you could just replace all instances of filename X with filename Y, and add 8 frames to all time code information. I could write a program to do this in a few minutes but for the fact that I can make no sense of the .vsp file format.

Does someone have the .vsp file format documented? If not, is there some other way to do what I want easily.

Regards,

Alistair

Try this.
Close VideoStudio. Rename the MPEG1 file.
Open VideoStudio and open your project. You will get a re link message, point it at the avi file. I think for this to work the new file must be as long as or longer than the original.

VSP is a private project format in Ulead and will not made public documents I think.

BTW, Smart Relink mechanism as Steve mentioned should work for this case.

To add

Make sure the first frame of the mpeg1 and the new file are the same content. This will ensure tht the timecode starts at the same point in the two videos.

Thanks. This worked. It is a pity there is not some open file format for video projects that Video Studio can use.
