When burning the HD DVD disc, VS 10.0+ presents a 15G space in the editing process. But as everybody might know, the reality is that there is not a HD DVD burner existed, even HDDVD-R in the present market, to hold 15G/30G...
Can anybody share the experiences: using a 4.7G DVD+/-R to buring a HD DVD contents directly in VS10.0+ (even shorter playing time)? This will be pretty practical and enjoyful in a long run.
Additional question: can the burned "HD disc" to be played in both HD-DVD player and Blu-ray Player. (compatability)
Much appreciated!!!

I burn quite a few 4.7gig HD-DVD's. They play back in HD-DVD players only. Although you can burn to a 4.7 disk with a standard burner, after the burn, it will no longer be readable by anything other than an HD-DVD drive (or player) since for all intents and purposes it is now a REAL hd-dvd.lgd18 wrote:When burning the HD DVD disc, VS 10.0+ presents a 15G space in the editing process. Bluray and hd-dvd technologies are not at all compatible with eachother.
At full bitrate (25000k) you can get about 40 minutes on a DL disk. But you can drop the bitrate as low as 19000 with no noticable degridation... this will get you an hour.
You must use VS10 in combo with another program to produce the disk.. I can not tell you the name of this other program since this post will get moderated (talking about other programs is not allowed). There is also another program that will capture/edit/and burn in one go, but again I am not allowed to mention the program.
Sorry!
