MF5 Not recognising HD Cam

Post by JohnManson »

Hello all! I am using Movie Factory 5 PLus, and having some difficulty getting the capture driver to recognise my Sony HC-3 (same as HC-1?) through a firewire connection. It defaults to regular definition even though I set up an HD-DVD project (The DV source in the cature screen lists "DV", no other option). If I go to the device control in the advanced menu in the capture screen, it lists a"HDV 1394 Device Control" as an option, but when I select it, it says that it is unable to open the device. Only the 1394 control works, which is standard definition. The camcorder autmatically defaults to HDV output on HDV recorded material, but I have also tried to set it manualy to HDV but it still doesn't allow it to work.

The funny thing is I have got it to work before, sometimes the HDV 1394 Device Contorl does work.

Any ideas on this one??

John

DVDMF 5 Plus should work with Sony HC-3.

Have you tried to replace the 1394 port/cable/card to see if it helps?

If it still cannot solve the issue, contact Ulead Tech Support.

Hope this helps.
