Movie Factory 4 SE, cannot burn disk!!!

Post by Water_Boy »

Hey Guys,

Have a problem with MF 4 SE,.....

First off let me say; this is my first time using the software¡K. I'm using it to capture video off an older camcorder (that went smooth, no problems). However when I go to burn the disk (I selected vcd mode in the beginning as I do not have a DVD burner), I get an error "The program has encountered a problem and must shut down" ..... This happens before the burner (lite-on cd-rw) begins the burning process¡K..Any help would be appreciated¡K.. See screen shot of problem below.

BTW, this problem happens every time when the detailed progress hits 21% completed......THanks!!

Nature of the problem ¡K. Cannot burn VCD

Properties of your source files¡K.. Imported from camcorder (using K-World DVD PCI card)

What devices are involved and their mode of connection?
Like I mentioned in the above explanation, I¡¦ve successfully downloaded and edited the video from the CC (camcorder)¡K. However the CC is connected via S-Video and RCA connections.

Project Settings ¡K.. VCD

Output format¡K Have tried both VCD & SVCD

PAL or NTSC ¡K.. I¡¦m not a computer guy, if someone can elaborate on this that would be appreciated¡K.

Error Codes
¡K. NONE, see screen shot¡K.

System information
¡K.. Windows XP SP2, HP 2.70ghz Celeron, 1g ram, Intel(R)8284g/gl/ge/pe/gv Graphics Controller, AC¡¦97 compatable video card, K-World video capture PCI card¡K.. If you need anything else please ask.

Any audio/video softwares or codec packs installed in the system¡K. Again sorry, not a computer guy, please elaborate¡K..

You may have a conflict with some other burning software. If you have Nero In-CD or other packet writing (drag & drop) burning software, turn it off.

An alternative is to create the DVD Folders / VCD on your hard drive, and then burn them to the actual DVD/VCD with your other burning software. I don't know if your SE version will do this, and I've never made a VCD... So your procedure may be slightly different.
- When you get to the "burn" step, check the box that says Create DVD folders and un-check Create Disc. If that works, you'll get the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders on your hard drive, instead of on a DVD.

FYI - If you live in the USA, your TV / DVD player are NTSC. If you live in Europe, your TV / DVD player are PAL.

Check the video properties like MD said, and report back.

Have you tried the update pack for DVDMF 4?

http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp_40.htm

You should install the 4.01 update pack because you are using a SE version. 4.02/4.04 update packs are not for SE.

Hope this helps.
