Z-Index or Layer order

Post by Deadhead_DMT »

How do I control the z-index (or layer order) of objects in the Cool3D Production Studio???

Especially when I create something based on an existing animation...

Example.... I start with a completed animation from the EasyPalette, but after I've chosen the animation and inserted it into my overall graphic, I would like to have some sort of text ON TOP OF the animation while it plays.... but I don't seem to have any control over placement and it commonly winds up in front of some of the objects and in back of others...!!!

But even when I am creating something without starting with an animation or movie....

Example.... I start with a couple of Text objects or graphics objects, and then after I've created a half a dozen or so within the graphic I am working on, I decide that I want TEXT1 to be behind TEXT3, but in front of TEXT6 .... (or objects in general) How do I adjust the Z-index (or layer order) for these various objects, animations, and movies????

Please advise..... thank you in advance...

Select the object that you want to move in the object manager then in the attribute panel or the attributes in the timeline select the Position attribute. You should then be able to go to the location toolbar and adjust the z coordinate as needed. As an alternative, you can either right or left click (I can't remember which) and hold the mouse to drag the object forward or back.

Hope that helps.

Ah, said the blindman.... Yes,.... I did not see the Z attribute in the Location Bar, and you are exactly right.... I do have z-index control via that function..... (and ALSO.... Right Click and drag DOES run it in and out of the Z-index gamut) !!!!

Thanks for you help!!! :D
