Gets frozen during BUILDING MENU step at burn

Post by chum94555 »

Hello, I use VS 10 plus. For buring DVD I follow instructions in the 'sticky' as well as in the manual. My problem starts if I decide to add MENU to the final DVD. It starts doing things in the burn step and after a while in gets hung up in BUILDING MENU TRANSITION at same point always. I am using one of the menu template provided (for wedding).

If I decide to burn without the MENUs it goes fine indicating there must be some sisues with building the menu step. I have tried to do reinstall twice and no luck. Trial verison of VS 10 (ie non plus ) works fine. I had read on one of the posting to disable SMART RENDER but this did not help either.. I really need to have menu in my final DVD. Pl help I did update w latest on VS site.

My system is very powerful 2.8 GHZ , 300 GB of HADD OF WHICH 200 GB is free, 1.5 GB OF RAM so it is not system issue PENTIUM based w XP HOME
is this a known problem? is there a solution?

thanks

You are on the right track, and you may have to use the process of elimination to find the problem. Start by using one of VS' sample clips and try to burn that with that particular menu. If it still doesn't work then that could mean a problem with the menu (or the settings associated with it, like fades, music, etc.). If it does work than that means the menu is fine and you might have a problem with one of your clips. Again, use process of elimination to find which one. It could mean some work - good luck. :?

Does it just freeze or do you (eventually) get any error messages such as
'Convert Step Unknown problem'

When it appears to have frozen it might in fact still be working albeit very slow. Press the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys together and check the Applications Tab to see if your program is shown as running or 'Failing to Respond.'
