Does VideoStudio 8 support AC-3 Audio?

Post by Rends »

Hi,
i just got a DVD-HDD recorder and recorded a couple of test videoclips i want to import into VS8 for editing.
So i used the import DVD/DVD-VR function where i can select the clips and import them wich seems to work fine.
But the videoclips doesn¡¬t have audio once imported.

In the Import screen VideoStudio says this about the videofile:
Audio :

Video :
MPEG-2 Video
4:3 Rate
720 x 576 Größe
480 Bilder
4505 Kbits/Sek.

Dolby AC-3 Audio
Stereo Modus
48.00 kHz
2 Kanal(Kanäle)

I have no problems to import with audio from DVDs i created with VideoStudio so i guess it could be the audio setting of the DVD-HDD recorder?
If so, wasn¡¬t there a AC3 plugin available at Ulead website? I can¡¬t find it anymore. Does VS9 supports AC3 sounds or do i need to get VS10?

Michael - yes there was an AC-3 plug-in for V8 - but I haven't seen it on the Ulead website for sometime.

Version 9 comes with 2 channel support for AC-3 (Dolby)

Version 10 includes support for 5:1 Dolby digital

You can find a bit more about both versions here :-

Hi BrianCee,
still remember my Name? Cool :-)

I just downloaded and installed the Version 10 Trial and it works fine with the Videofiles from the DVD HDD Recorder.
Need to go to my local dealer next days and get a copy of Version 10.

Make sure it is VS10+ -- the plus sign is important. This version has some important features that VS10 vanilla version does not...
