David,

Don't forget the update for MF5 if you didn't buy MF5+.
Does anybody know if this is their usual behaviour?
I opened a support case very few times in the last years. In the past I don't remember getting any replies. My saved mails don't have any either.

In a current case (November) I received a reply to my 2nd attempt, which surprised me. And I was given a link to a patched download that corrected my issue. Maybe it depends on which region the report goes to? Or maybe it depends on the complexity of the issue? In my 2nd attempt I provided a fool-proof way of reproducing it, including file names and messages.

Ulead offers trial versions, so I checked it. I purchased after the most important problems were fixed, knowing not to rely on support. The price allows this decision if the product does what you need it to do.

I had problems and miserable support from a different company a few years ago that made their product unusable for me. They are banned forever by me, no matter what comes out and what offers they send.

You are a star!

If you ever come to Hong Kong I will buy you a meal!

The information you sent me enabled me to re-install Moviefactory 5. I haven't had time yet to check whether the original problem with the slide show has been fixed because that will take a bit of time and I wanted to thank you first.

I simply don't understand the attitude of Ulead support. It would have been easy for them to provide me with the information that you sent me instead of which they completely ignored all my requests for support.

I doubt if I'll ever buy any more of their products - I can't expect you to help me out every time I've got a problem!

Thanks again,

David
I don't want to protect ULEAD here, their tech service is not exactly world best but don't you expect a bit much? Appart from providing technical help, now they are supposed to keep track of your membership registrations as well? I had been thinking along the same lines as Henry but thought "No, nobody would register as a member twice with different user names"

I'm glad you got it to work but start taking charge of your own affairs rather than to rely on someone else to do it for you. No offence intended.
