dvd menu question

Post by lakewud »

I have vs9, have been looking through the list of different dvd menu titles on offer in vs9...as per the norm the one i want - doesnt seem to be there! nothings ever easy is it!!

Now, ive read on here about the various freebies you can download, and creating a menu page in photoshop ( sadly my trial version of PS gave up on me after ony 4 days..so much for the 3days trial!! )

SO, all im wanting is...the main menu page having two buttons, one says play the other saying chapters....click on the chapers button and up pops another screen with all the chapters listed.simple? Just all ive seen are menus which displays both title screen and the ability for chapters...just looks confusing for my aging gran ...so perfer to keep the chapter out of the main menu page altogether..yes! i could just ignore the chapter thing for my grans copy of the dvd i know..but was just curious is there a way to do this/template ive missed?

Did plan to create a 30sec title screen, bit of music, a few images thrown together...would this create a problem?

Looked and tried to make sense of the Authoring a dvd topic. From what i can see it doesnt answer my question though.

Is there an option in VS9 - to let me have 2 menu screens..the first one having the buttons for ..for example..play and chapter buttons....press the chapter button and up pops the next screen with alll the chapters on it.

Just dont want to clog that first screen up with some chapters, perfer to keep them all on one page.

Any advice please?

Hi

When doing Share Create Disc you add a video file. For each file you add to the timeline you get one thumbnail in the main menu page

Each thumbnail can have chapters created, this creates a separate chapter page.

Play the disc and you will seethe first page containing links to the main videos, selecting these will show the chapters, select a chapter to play

Hi Steve, What do you do next after the menus appear to have been created ok but neither the video nor menus appear in the Ulead Preview Viewer that appears just before the burn menu in VS9, but the video burns producing a playable SVHS disk (albeit jerky and seemingly without menus).

Also why do the menu thumbnail buttons for duration and motion disappear and how do you get them back.
