Dumb Newbie Question about Multi Video Overlay Tracks

Post by David BUrton »

Is there a place on the forum or a manual somewhere that explains how to use the overlay tracks in VS 10 plus?

What I am looking for is a way to switch between mutiple video tracks or as the older folks would say A-B Roll or tracks?

When I searched I did not find anything specific, but it is late and way past my bedtime.

David, there is an icon in UVS10 to show multiple video tracks, instead of the usual single video track and the one overlay track.

Thanks for the information, the effect or edit that I am interesting in doing would be like in an interview, where the person being interviewed is talking and they do ' a cut-away shot' to show the person doing the interview nodding their head to show that they have not fallen asleep yet  and then cut back to the person talking again.

I think that the term is a A-B Cut Shot or A-B Roll Shot, can this be done in VS 10?

Thanks for you help already.

David..the answer is yes. It is a simple process to insert a video clip as an overlay over the main video clip. Or you can cut the main video clip and insert the a video clip, then add the main video clip continuation.

Thank you, I'll give it a try when I get to the church where the computer is that has the program.
