just captured my first video and it came up with ntsc, so i deleted it and started again, I went into the project preferences, it was ntsc 16.9 drop frame 720 x 480.
So i went into the edit on the same project preferences and changed the tv standard to pal and it changed to 720 x 526, when i captured it came up as a smaller 4:3 screen in the capture 4:3 screen ?
What are the correct settings to capture from a Sony HC42 widescreen camcorder so i can play back on a U.K tv which is PAL ?
I clicked the 16 :9 box when i opened Ulead 10 up at the beginning ?
What should it say and what should the audio standard say ?..many thanks
What preferences in capture mode for widescreen pal,Im lost

It sounds like when you installed VideoStudio you didnt set your Country or TV Standard and accepted the default (U.S.A. - NTSC)
Not to worry though because if your using an IEEE1394 firewire cable and following the method outline in
From camcorder to DVD with videoStudio when you start to transfer the video onto your hard drive the correct settings should kick in automatically.
