'File not accessible'

Post by Klaus Christo »

I am trying to convert an avi file, which I downloaded from the internet, to mpg. But each time I try to open the files I get the message "........is not accessible'.
I can play this video on my computer etc but I want to put it on a dvd to watch on TV.
help would be much appreciated.

Since you downloaded it from the internet, it is most likely another file format which uses .avi as its carrier format only. It is most likely to be an mpeg-4 highly compressed format such as DivX or XVid, for which you will need to obtain the correct codec in order to open it. Have you tried the free conversion program SUPER which you can find on our freebies page. (Sorry, I am away from home at the moment, working on a laptop and a slow dial-up connection so cannot point you to that page...)
