Hi,
I own the Sony HC96 camcorder, described here http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/So ... Review.htm
According to the specs, its effective sensor resolution is 2.05 Megapixels. I've got two questions regarding this resolution:
1) Does this resolution mean that every frame of the video consists of a picture of 2.05 Megapixels?
2) If I'm grabbing a frame of my DV-video .avi file, then I get a 720*576 pixels pictures, so far less than 2.05 Megapixels. Isn't there a way to get pictures / frames of a higher resolution?
BTW, I'm using VS10+ and I use the function "save as still image" to get a picture.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, The Megapixel rating is only available when capturing stills to Memory Stick actually in camera.
Normal video is only captured at 720 x 576 so this is all that is imported into VS10, or any other editor, so using the VS10 save still image can only save a single frame, at 720 x 520.
You can just take video and then try and extract quality stills from it, best to carry a small digicam as well.
