Audio Out of Synch UVS8

Post by cohonky »

I'VE CREATED A FEW MUSIC VIDEOS AND SLIDESHOWS USING UVS8 AND WHEN I BURN THE PROJECT TO DVD, THE MUSIC I INSERTED IS ABOUT A SECOND OUT OF SYNCH. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING WHEN I'M TRYING TO SYNCH CERTAIN PHOTOS/CLIPS WITH CERTAIN SOUNDS IN THE MUSIC.

WHEN I PREVIEW THE COMPLETED PROJECT, EVERYTHING IS PERFECT. BUT WHEN IT'S BURNED TO DVD, I HAVE THE SYNCH PROBLEM.

SUGGESTIONS ANYONE ? ? ? ?

Hi Cohonky, welcome to the Forums...:)

First we are going to need some more information. Please view This Thread, it provides a guideline to the specific information needed to help you.

Please complete your Image information found in your profile.

Thanks for the quick reply. I updated my system info but I wasn't sure how to get my motherboard, graphics card, and sound card info. Hope this helps.

First if you click on the "System" button in my previous post, it will take you to a tutorial that explains how to get that information.

Now we need to know, where you are getting your video, from a camcorder, VCR, DVD, or internet? What format are they, DV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, ? How you get them to your computer, Firewire, capture card, or other device? What you have set for your project properties and your video properties? (For project properties go to File menu>Project Properties. For video properties right-click on a video clip in the timeline or library and select properties). What editing you have done?

Then did you go to Share>Create Video File, and create a DVD compatible MPEG-2? After creating your video file, did you clear your timeline (start a new project), then with an empty timeline go to Share>Create Disc?

All of the above is covered in the Recommend Procedures, which a link was provided, and is found as a Sticky at the top of this forum.

Finally audio/video out of sync is a known problem with VS8. Have you made sure you have installed all the appllicable updates and patches? They can be found here:

Video Studio 8.0 had chronic audio/video synch problems. You should upgrade to version 10+.

I have no audio/video sync issues with Ulead VideoStudio 8, provided that I use the version that was on the CD that was ordered from Ulead. I've found it impossible to install the service pack that provides, among other things, dual-layered capability. As soon as it's installed on my own system, the lip sync issues begin.

I downloaded the trial of VideoStudio 9 once it was released, and the lip sync issues persisted. It's much improved in the trial of VideoStudio 10, but random popping noise in the rendered video kept surfacing with VS 10...so I continue using the original, unpatched version of VideoStudio 8.
