Audio not captured VS10+

Post by MelD »

I have tried the instrucitons in both articles on the knowledge base, but still no audio when capturing. I have tested windows moviemaker, and this captures the audio perfectly, so it has to be something with ULead...any other ideas?

Audio not captured VS10+

Hi Tony,

tried that, but still no sound...its not even playing sound from the sample videos that ULead have with the software. Are all sound cards compatible? I have a Dell Dimensions 2400, 2.8Ghz, Pentium 4, 512RAM

Thanks

Mel,

The sample videos that come with VS10 do not appear to have audio. You cannot split the audio out and I never hear it either.

I have experienced a similar problem with audio not playing after dragging the clip to the timeline. Make sure you click on project before you click play then you should be able to hear the audio. When I leave it on clip, I get no audio.

The sound card should work if it works with windows, thats what industry standards are all about. I am pretty new to the VS software myself but have been reading everything I can find about the software.

Audio not captured VS10+

Hi Tony,

I tried that just no...but still no audio. What I did try was capturing the footage in moviemaker and then playing it in ULead, and audio is heard. So it still comes back to a problem at the capture stage, where ULead is not recording the audio. ULead technical have come back with

"To have sound while capturing video from camcorder via IEEE 1394 firewire, please add "PreviewAudio=1" flag in the [MainSec] section in the dswplug.ini file. " I have done this, but I believe that they are not understanding my problem, this is so I can preview the audio while capturing...my problem is that audio is not being captured fullstop.

Thanks anyway Tony,

Mel

Do you have the full version of VS10+, or is it a trial or SE version?

Check that you have selected the correct audio input source in the Windows Volume Control Recording Panel.

Here it is in pictures
