That download of the bear flying the model plane was awesome but where was the front camera? I counld not detect even a shadow of a front mounted cam. I do not plan to strap my HC1 to one of these. :D

On Peter's problem, I recommended a workflow of capturing and editing in HD - then, from that platform, creating video files from the project with different properties for different needs - but of the exact same source project. For example, he could quickly smart render a 1440x1080 mpeg2 HDV or downconvert to 720x480p @ 9.8Mbps, which makes a very good DVD. I usually transcode the project to Divx 1920x1080p, which I can burn on a standard DVD.

OTOH, if he downrezzes in the camcorder, he will have to edit twice - for SD and HD versions.

I recommended capturing using VS10+ from the getgo. It leaves the capture file in mpg2 HDV @25Mbps, which many editors and playback software can handle. Spend the $99 on VS10+ and help the economy! :D
