WS 2.0 Return to the selected button rather than the default

Post by dennisbthomas »

Is there a way to return to the selected button in the menu rather than always returning to the default button for the menu?

All comments are welcome.

Thanks

So... If I understand you...

You want to select a chapter/program, and when it's done, you want to go back to the menu, default to the same button selection, and repeat that selection...

In that case, I think you'd need multiple menus that "look alike" but have different default selections. Each button would have its own menu, which is linked at the bottom of its playlist.

That wouldn't be too bad if you don't have too many menus & buttons already.

Yes, there is. From the question I gather that you are in a menu, let's call it menu A, you click a button, a clip is played and then you return to menu A, with the default button for menu A selected. You want that the same button that started the clip should be selected instead of the default button. You can accomplish this quite simply. In the procedure below I assume you have made a menu with a button that starts a clip and then returns to the same menu. The procedure is applicapable in other cases too, with some natural modifications.

Procedure:
1) Select the button that starts the clip.
2) Click on "Playlist" in the window for buttons etc to the upper left.
3) In the playlist, the last item will be something like "Main menu". Double click on this item.
4) A window pops up where you can see the menu and its buttons. Click on the button you wish shall be selected on return, then click "OK".
6) The item in the play list will now look something like "Main menu - Button 3".
Done!

As you see, there is no need to duplicate menus.

Sorppa,

Thanks for the information!! It's very elegant and quick to do.

Did you find this in any documentation, if so where, or did you just stumble upon it?

Thanks Again
This is a great time saver.
