Time Frame

Post by GilbyTwins »

Thanks alot for the kind words. That is the best reward for the hard work!

If you mean the 88 second, not minute, Monday Night Football intro....it took just over ten hours to get timing right. Picture sorting and selection was another 90 minutes or so. All in all, it took much longer than I had hoped but once I started and saw how cool it was turning out, there was NO WAY I was going to stop. :D It was a huge learning experience and recommend everyone try it at least once.

Burning Update

Post by GilbyTwins »

An update for anyone burning multiple DVDs. I ended up burning an ISO image of the final video and then using Nero Ultra 7 to mount it on disks. Nero actually allows multiple burners to work at the same time. So, between my desktop doing two, one internal and onex external USB 2.0, and my laptop writing one, I have been cranking out Pop Warner DVDs at a rate of three 4.38 GB DVDs every twelve minutes now. Woo hoo!

The first several batches I had Nero verify the written data which made the total time around 46 minutes per batch. After the first 10 with them all being perfect, I turned off verify written data and they have worked well.

What I have done is burn 1 DVD from VS9. Then reviewed it on an actual DVD player on the TV..There HAVE been a few cases where even though I reviewed it on my computer, when I see it on the bigscreen TV there may be a few minor changes of think of while I watch it.

Anyway..after having a DVD I'm satisfied with, I use Nero to make any copies I need.

This leads to me seeking opinions/comments from you 'experts'..

I don't see any reason to burn the DVD to a file. In fact, when I'm done with a project, I burn all files used...video, images, audio.. to a DVD for backup. Am I missing something ?

I used the Sports - Toolkit 8 of Digital Juice. It is VERY cool and well worth the $99.
The Digital Juice website is selling the Editors Toolkits for $399. Did you really get it for $99? WHERE?!

Ulead ought to place your videos on their own server and use them to demonstrate the capabilities of VideoStudio.
What better method is there of selling a piece of software than saying
take a look at this - it's something one of our customers made with it.

Well done, its an inspiration to all our members.

Steve J - Thanks again for the kind words, especially from someone with your experience. That means alot to me. As a quick aside, I gave the DVDs to the football "team mom" for player distribution at the end of year party on Sunday. She watched a couple of the clips and had tears in her eyes. I would say mission accomplished. It is special to see how one's hard work can touch people.

Black Lab - I bought the editor's toolkit 8 - sports about 3 weeks ago for $99 directly from them and in fact they had a special bonus going $25 add-on for any of the jump backs of which I bought two more. They actually had a special for THREE editor's toolkits of your choice for $249. I should have jumped all over that now that I realize how high quality and flexible their stuff is. It is so cool. Maybe if you call them and tell them about all of the good pub they are getting here they'll give you a break. It was only a couple weeks ago that I got it.

National Anthem

Post by GilbyTwins »

Here's one more from the compilation. This is the video that I started the DVD with. A little cheesey, but I still like it. In my opinion this is the best rendition of the national anthem I've ever heard.....from the Superbowl 1991. Enjoy -Dave
