Anyone Use JVC HDV?

Post by Maxheadspace »

Greetings! Anyone using a JVC HDV camera with VideoStudio 10+? I have an HD100 and am having a heck of a time getting VS10+ to capture. I think if I can shut off the preview monitor during capture, it will work. I get video pictures on the screen when I start the capture, but then it stops and the error code says it will shut off the monitor during capture, but then it stops capture and I can't get it to re-start capture. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Your camera is probably not supported by VS10, link to cameras that are supported.

I have they exact same problem, I am trying to get tech support to write a capture plugin for this camera, (MediaStudio Pro 8 & DVD MovieFactory?5 Plus both will capture JVC-HD). So I suggest that you use the ulead tech support to create a problem report. Hopefully they will write the plugin if they get enough negative feedback about this. (They just released an update for the Canon HD camcorder.) In the mean time I have been using the capture software that came with the camera and then imported the video into Video Studio and it seems to work OK.

Same problem here, it recognizes it's a JVC camcorder, but crashes after one second of capture. Tech support is no help, they don't return my emails, they just tell me that the camera is not supported. Premiere Pro works though, but VS10+ can't read premiere's mpeg (hdv) file...
