Error message with VM Sparkle plug in

Post by Kiai1 »

Hi there,

I wonder if someone could help me. I've looked thru other posts but can't find an ansa, sorry. I've just downloaded and installed VM natural sparkle plugin but it won' t work.
I get the folowing error message

Image

I was wondering if I needed a dll file. Someone from ABC's said I should have dll's already installed with my other filters but it can't hurt to try so she pointed me in the direction of a site where I can get dll's but I haven't a clue what to do. (If I do need a dll where do I put it?)

Just to check, have I put the 8bf file in the right places?
I've extracted it from the zip file to my plug in folder and I've also put in the Ulead vft folder.
I've tried uninstalling then installing it a couple of times and I've restarted the program also, didn't work
I hope I've given enough info, if not I'm really sorry

Many thanks, Kiai x :(

That plug-in works error-free on my system...

"My plugin folder..." What folder is that, specifically?

Did you extract all the files from the zip file, including the _isreg32.dll file? It should be in that zip file. There are a bunch of 8bf files, the _isreg32.dll, _deisreg.isr, DeIsL1.isu and DeIsL2.isu. They should all be added to your plugin folder.

Do not use any 8bf files in GIF Animator's vft folder. They won't work in there.

Thanks for the reply.
The plugin folder I mean is the one where I put all my plugins that I use with UGA5, and I've created a path in UGA5 preferences: D:/Programfiles/Pugins
The only thing in the zip file was the 8bf file, nothing else. There has been other files when I've downloaded other filters.
If I get the files you mention do I just extract them into my plugin folder along with the 8bf file?
Lol I think I put the sparkle 8bf file into the vft folder cos that's what I'd done with the Ulead ones.
I'm going to look for the other files you mention and put them in the plug in folder any way to see if this works.

Thanks again, Kiai x

P.S. I've just realised they were vft files I put in Ulead, not 8bf ....lol....

Me again,

I've got all the files you mentioned apart from DeIsL2.isu.
When you say Put them in your plugin folder where exactly do you mean? There are no dll files at all in my plugin folder (D:/Programfiles/plugins) they are all in the Ulead Systems file, that is where I've added the files you mentioned (except the one I can't find of course) Off to look somewhere else.

Many thanks, Kiai x

Do not put any plugins in the Ulead folders. They do not belong there.

If you click "File, Preferences..." and go to plugin folders, do you have it set to D:/Programfiles/plugins?

All filters (8bf files and any dll files, etc) should be placed in the folder you specify here in the Preferences. If you obtained the filter in a zip file, extract all the files in the zip file here.

If you are doing something non-standard, then it makes things a bit trickier...

Do as noted above, and everything should work fine.

Thanks Viking,

I've taken all the 8bf files out of Ulead and I added the dll files etc to the pluging folder but it still wouldn't work. I gave up for a bit waiting to see what you would suggest and would you believe I just happened to try it when I was doing something in Ulead and it worked.... No idea why it wouldn't, then would, but I'm not complaining.

Many many thanks for your help...
