"pops" after trimming audio
I am fairly new to video editing so please don't get too technical. I have tried trimming audio (background music) clips and have noticed popping noise after trimming. I have not rendered the entire project and burned it to DVD yet and am hoping the problem is merely in the previewing phase. I tried using the noise filter and it made the audio clip worse.
Maybe I am doing something wrong. Any help will be appreciated.

Before judging I think you should see how the finished product sounds.

Is the source audio a MP3 file? If so, report to Ulead Tech Support.
http://www.ulead.com/tech/techsupport.htm
Or you can convert the MP3 file to a WAVE file to use in UVS to see if it would solve the problem.

The pops and crackles in my audio have always been in wav files when rendered to Dolby. As I stated earlier, if I render them to LPCM I don't have the problem.

My audio files are all WMA. They are downloaded from Wal-Mart, burned to a CD and then ripped back to my PC. I have ripped a few tunes from my CD collection and the result is the same.
I have just started using UVS+. I have used Cyberlink Power Director and had no problem trimming the audio. I would like to find a solution because UVS has some nice features not available in Power Director.

Try converting them to wav files and see what happens.

Black Lab,
Thanks for the suggestion. I will try it and post the results.
I have downloaded the free audio editor, Audacity, as suggested by several posters. I am not familiar with audio editing so it will take some time to see if this is the best solution.
As you can probably tell, I'm not a professional -- I just do this for my family, but I like to make my productions somewhat professional.
