Are you following the Recommended Procedures in the top sticky post on this Board? That recommends against trying to burn a project directly to disc. Instead, you should first go to Share > Create Video File > DVD and prepare a DVD-compatible mpeg-2. Then close your project, open a new one with an empty timeline, and select Share > Create Disc > DVD, insert your new mpeg-2(s), create menu and burn.

Ok... Not originally...... Found it after I posted... Even printed the whole thread..

Last night I reconfigured and followed the procedure, using the info for DV-> AVI capture. Created the MPEG2 file., but still get the same message at burn time. It may not like my Memorex USB burner. The MPEG2 burned fine in Nero. So for now I'll create in VS10 and burn in Nero.

Since you have Nero installed, check if the Nero InCD module is also installed as part of the suite. If so, uninstall just that module as it is known to take over the DVD burner and deny access to it for other programs like Video Studio.

I haven't uninstalled it, but I have the service set to manual. I really don't want to uninstall it, since I use it to access RW disks. If I get a chance I will uninstall to test.
