I am using the latest full version of MF5 with SP1 on a HP Media Centre M7330n with a dual core AMD 64 Athlone X2 4200+. The only software on it is for for is audio and photo & video editing. MF5 works great until I go to burn my projects. I get a message that my burner is busy and to shut down the software using the burner and try again. According to Windows task manager I have no other software running. I have to restart my computer and reload my project and try again. Even this does not work all the time and I have to repeat the process.
This is very annoying and time consuming. When MF5 burns a DVD it does a great job but getting there is not half the fun.
I have been using Ulead products since the first versions and cannot understand why they all have these little annoying bugs involving conflict with other software. It is almost enough to make me change software (not yet though). Surely someone out there has had this problem and has an easy fix.
Thank you

Sounds like you have packet writing software that is hijacking your burner. Packet writing software are those that treat the DVD burner like another drive, where you can just drag and drop files to burn them to disc. These would include Roxio Drag to Disc, Nero InCD, and Ulead Data Add 2.0. If you have any of these installed you need to disable them so that DMF5 can gain access to the burner..

MF5 SP1 Burner Busy
Thanks for the quick reply. I feel foolish. I had this problem before with earlier versions and had to remove Roxio & Nero software to correct it. When I set up this new computer I made sure they were not installed. I never thought of ULead itself hijacking my burner from another of their programs. I had used MF4 Disc creator but removed it when MF5 came out. I just started liking Quick Drop always being there when I back up data files (which you cannot do on MF5). I'll just have remember to load it when I am not making videos. That is one of the annoying little bugs I was talkinng about. You would assume that Ulead MF5 would hijack Ulead Quick Drop not vice versa.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
MF5 does have QuickDrop.
Check your MF5 program folder or the startup menu that was created.
You don't need to remove Nero, that's for sure. Lot's of us burn with Nero, like the DVD folder created with MF.
