Hi
I have burnt a few 5 min films successfully on Ulead DVD workshop 2, but when I tried to burn a 1 hour 30min project, it always freezes 2 and half hours into the transcoding progress. It always stops at the same place.
There are no error messages, the time laps counter just stops counting and the Hard drive stops flashing. Its like my computer crashes.
I have enough space and RAM on my computer for that to be the problem.
I know there could be many reasons why this is happening, but I would appreciate any help on the common problems this could be.
My media are quicktime reference files exported from avid
Thank you

Does AVID export MPEG2? If so convert your quicktime files to a DVD compliant MPEG2 format with AVID and then import those files into DVD workshop.
I prepare all of my video files with a video editor before starting work on the DVD authoring process with DVD Workshop.
Typically I use VideoStudio / MediaStudio or Womble MPEG Editor.
With Video files that are already DVD compliant I find that DVD Workshop will create even my most complex DVD Menus in a matter of between 5 - 30 minutes ready for burning to disc.

Have you checked whether there is a blank spot in your QT file, where it stops working?
Generally speaking, I try to avoid QT like the plague. It is a format that has many problems in a Windows environment. Better to use a good AVI codec or, as suggested, go directly to MPEG-2.

Some QT files will have compatibility issues between video editors or authoring programs. If you wish to transfer video files between video programs, DV AVI is suggested. However, DV AVI would require larger storage space.
