in moviefactory 4 you can pick a 30 second motion menu spot of any part of the movie... you can pick your selection of your choice of your movie

can you do that in moviefactory 5 plus , if so how?

Sure can ! In the menu step2/3 select the thumbnail icon. Then choose 'change this scene thumbnail' from the dropdown menu.
Drag the scroll-bar or better still type in the required starting point.

Hi,

I'll add some more info...

Changing the scene's thumbnail determines the starting point of the clip in a motion menu, including SmartMenu templates.

But for a SmartScene menu, you can only do it in the Add Media window. Click the clip in the clip list, find the desired starting point in the preview window, right click on the clip in the list and Change Thumbnail.

With Thumbnail menus, you can also do this later in the menu template window by simply right clicking on the scene in the menu display.

i found the change this scene thumbnail in thumbnail menus but cant find it in the smartscene menu

wheres the ''Add Media window''? how do i ''Click the clip in the clip list, find the desired starting point in the preview window, right click on the clip in the list''?

when i try that in MF 5 plus like in the picture above... my change thumbnail is greyed out.

in the add media section i add a video and when i go to right click on it change thumbnail is greyed out!

You have to move the playhead, (the arrow above the blue bar) to activate the Change Thumbnail menu option.
