PI 12 problems

I take back all my unkind remarks about PhotoImpact 12 - having now successfully installed & used it, on a new computer, I am most impressed.
My previous computer finally passed away peacefully in safe mode - all my problems with PI 12 were caused by dying hardware & system software. Thank you all for your help.
Lessons learnt were:- PI 12 is designed for & works beautifully on new computers, but may have problems with older systems. Problems were not caused by downloading with or without download manager. PI 12 is much faster than PI 10 (loads in 20 sec).
So, thanks again - I am now a very happy PI 12 user & will NOT be seeking a refund.

I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted, congratulations.

You are, however, not quite correct in your statement. PI 12 does not need a new computer to run well, it needs a good computer.

Mine for example, is in it's core, is about 3 years old but some hardware is even older and other bits and pieces are newer.

As long as vital elements like HDDs, optical drives (CD/DVD), system RAM etc. are functioning well, you will not have a problem. Having a brand new computer with faulty memory (has happened) will give you just a much problem or more.
