Everytime I create an mpeg from an avi, the mpeg settings revert back to 16:9 and 70% quality. ANd, when I go to but to DVD, some of the settings there have reverted back also form the previous time.
Am I assuming that there is not way to maintain settings. It is so easy to forget and start converting or burning with the wrong settings.

There is a workround.
Start a new project and set your preferences.
Save the 'Empty' project with a suitable name.
Now when you start VideoStudio you open that 'empty' project and it adopts those settings. You must remember though to use 'Save As' and change the name of the project you are now working on so that you preserve the one created above.
You can also go to windows Explorer and find your empty projects vsp file and make it 'read only' as a safety measure.
