"Device Control" setting in VS10

Post by msfox99 »

I have a DV camcorder with analog passthrough, meaning I can connect an analog video source to it's input, and send the signal directly to the Firewire port without first going to tape. To use this with VS10, I need to be able to tell VS10 to not sent a "device control" signal to the camcorder when I capture video. Otherwise VS will try to turn on the tape transport, which I don't want. (I am not using tape in this scenario.) Does VS10 have such a setting? I can't find it.

I was able to do this with other video editors I have used by disabling such a setting.

Thanks.

Just remove the tape from your camcorder while using the pass through.

Msfox99 if your camcorder is like mine, you will need to activate the
pass through feature in the menu of the camcorder. Mine has to be set
to "on" at "AVI to DV"
