Playback errors when creating disc

I recently made a DVD using Video Studio 10 without difficulty. I am using the trial version.

When I tried to burn part two of my video [a separate project] the preview pane worked fine when I played the project in 'Edit' mode.

When I tried to burn it using New project>share>Create Video file the preview pane was jumpy and even paused [froze momentarily] when I played it.

I've also struck the same problem when trying to 'Create Disc' straight from the menu.

The final DVD copy was similar - jumpy and pausing at times.

I'm not aware of any changes to the preferences that I may have made since I successfully completed the first DVD. Any ideas?

Are your following the Recommended Procedure?

Some people can burn a disc with no problems (your first one) by following the user's manual, while others can't (your second). The Recommended Procedure was designed to work around seeminly inherent problems while burning.
