Hello I use VS10 and capture using IEE1394 Firewire. After I capatures all the clips when I go in edit mode and try to look at individual clips using the jog bar, the jog bar seems to be very sluggish. This means it takes a long time to view the clips (few minutes) . Is there any setting I may be missing?
I have read the article on how to set up VS 10 for capture and all settings seem to be per this. Pl help
thanks

Your system is certainly up to the task, and you are editing DV and not some highly compressed format like DivX or Xvid. So now that leads me to what else is running in the background while you're editing? Even though you have a fairly robust system, it can be slowed down considerably if some background app thinks it needs the resources.

Re: Sluggish Jog bar
I wonder if you have enabled "split by scene" when capturing your footage. If your source video comprises lots of short clips (as mine generally do) it can take VS an appreciable amount of time to automatically insert the clips into the timeline - which is one of the VS dafaults.chum94555 wrote:Hello I use VS10 and capture using IEE1394 Firewire. Run windows Task Manager, though, next time you're trying this, to see what's happening with your RAM - though you seem to have plenty.
