I flew into San Diego today and am presently using the board and it is very fast. It is the way it use to be on my desktop before the hijacking back in New York. So maybe it is an East Coast situation. I am really enjoying the board again. :D Hope the problem is resolved by the time I return to the East coast on Friday.

Well it certainly SUCKS here. I can hardly access it. There are times that it seems to run ok, then a few minutes later, it takes forever to load a page. When it gets too slow I go elsewhere. I don't know where the problem actually is. As you can see I done a trace-route and around hop 18 is where the problem is.

Hi Ron, well I have been trying all morning to agree that it sucks but haven't been able to get on until now!
You know I could climb to the top of my office building and hit their offices with a decent spit so the problem has to be right at their server or their pipe.
Strange thing is that it is intermittent (did I spell that right?) sometimes it's normal then suddenly it just goes into go slow mode.

I was considering that, after reading the traceroute. Look at Hop 17, where it's located at. It's not in the US. Generally when looking at traceroutes, when they loose the trace at a specific hop, then the problem most of the time is there.

Well no problems here at all. I am in a regional area of South Australia and I am using ADSL.

We Aussies have got it good.

Now, after I post a reply, I get all these "header error" messages (see below). Definitely reminds me of when this board crapped out the first time. Won't remember my login/password either.

Wouldn't surprise me if this board went down again in the next day or two.

If you haven't already you should bookmark and make sure you're registered for the Alternate Ulead User Board.

I just don't get it. At work this is slow as molasses. At home, two miles away, this is quick as lightning.

My access to and navigation in this forum is slow both at work and at home. Both locations have adsl service.

Just logged in this morning at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, Nov. 21, and my speed at work is back to normal. Hoooorrrraaaaaayyyyyy!!!!

:) :)

Let's just hope it stays this way.

Now I can get back to interacting with all of you forum buddies.

Jeff: Looking back at your original post date of Nov. 9th, it took 12 days for this problem to be fixed. Interesting?!
Cheers,

Bryan P.

At least it's fixed!

Is it moving East to West or West to East. How is it in your neck of the woods, Ron?

I posted early in this thread, saying I was on a laptop and using dial-up and my access was fine within those parameters. But the past 2 or 3 days, I have to say, were hell. Taking forever for a page to appear (more than a minute, often more than 2; having to press the renew button regularly to get around a hung blank page; finding it was 'easier' -- very relatively speaking -- to go back to the main VS page and choose a new topic and wait, than it was to press the 'previous' or 'next' button...) Other websites were working normally. But today, it seems to be behaving itself -- so far, at least!

Same here in New York. The speed is back and I am enjoying the forum like days of old; but I also know that I have been here before and any minute the turtle pace can return. :( But for now I will enjoy it! :D

Tonight it is running normally. I have noticed that the period of slowness has shifted to the morning hours (5 amJ) here.
