Chapter menu navigation

So I have finished my project and merrily created discs with root and chapter menus in VS10. On one of my versions, when I play in my DVD player, the chapter menu shows up fine, but I can't navigate it with my remote control. The DVD plays fine and the root menu plays fine, but I can't use the arrows to go between chapters. It is a thumbnail menu with 8 chapters and the thumbnails and background image look fine. Just no remote control navigation. Did I somehow delete something I shouldn't have?

PS: When I preview this in VS using their remote simulator it works fine, and when I put the burned DVD in my PC and use my DVD player software it's fine (of course that uses the mouse and not remote-like buttons).

It should work.
Are you sure you made a DVD, not a (S)VCD?

VCD are navigated with numbers, DVDs with arrows and next/previous.
Can you switch to a chapter by using f.i. number 3 or 5 on the remote?

Would that be the VCD Player Compliant option in the DVD creation section?
