VS 10 crashes

Hi VS Friends,

I am using VS10 a couple of months without crashes.
Now suddenly it crashes while creating disc, or in editing mode whatever.

I have all XP updates implemented and checked also the settings of virtual memory.
Free space C:drive 6,4Gb (program files), 51 Gb D drive video files.

Any more suggestionss?

Have you just installed the service pack 1 for VS10? Because I did and I know seem to have the same problems as you.

I am uninstalling VS10 SP1 and will see if my problems are fixed.

I have installed VS SP1 12 oktober 2006.
How do you manage to install this?

I have the same problem as described in this topic.

Unfortunately does adjusting the pagefile not fix the crash. When I'm editing or trimming captured DV clips, UV10 suddenly stops working. It always fails on "vstudio.exe" and "ntdll.dll" I hope there will be soon a hotfix for it, because it gets frustrating. Are there any more solutions?

Note: In the past UVS 8 worked briljant to me.

My specs:

Pentium IV 2.53
Kingston 1024 mem/WD 160 gb ATA/ATI Radeon 9250/Windows XP SP 2
Latest DirectX 9.0c (release. oct/nov 2006)
Ulead VideoStudio 10+/all updates from ulead.com are installed

It still doesn't work when uninstalling SP1...

Hi ,

I have some additional info.
When burning disc it fails every time whn 50% at the building motion background of te menu has been completed.
Error msg info: App.name vstudio exe, app.vers 10.0.0.0, Mod name mpgmvx.dll, Mod vers 1.1.1.135, offset 0004bfb,

C:\Docume~\krusel\locals~1\temp\6c7e_appcompat.txt

Any suggestions?

Agreed. I still get the same problem as well. Also getting problems with DVD authoring now. Back to the drawing board.....

Hi VS Friends,

I finally decided to uninstall and re- install VS 10 to solve these crashes.
Now it works fine again, however it is bordering me when this will occur again. There must be a reason for this instability.

Whatever I do, it still crashes while editing my DV files. But why? I don't understand why a retail version is crashing on my PC. Seriously I did all suggestions that were made.

I do have Windows XP Home and UVS legal! I regret boughting UVS 10+

First understand that I am not a programmer. What I have learned from reading some posts by H.T. Chien, who is a programmer/developer for Ulead, is that codecs (Compresser-Decompressors) are a big cause for video editing program crashes.
