I have Ulead VideoStudio V10 and have successfully created working DVD's with it. I have 3 MPG video files I have added, as well as a album of 600 pictures. When I go to burn it, it looks like all is fine until it stops and says "Convert step got some problem [257:0:0]" If I remove the picture album, it works all the way through. Is there a limit of how many pictures I can put (I also tried 2 albums with 300 each...still same result)? I really haven't found anything that addresses the picture albums on the DVD's. Ultimately, my goal is to only have to hand out 1 DVD with the Videos and pictures, rather than one video DVD and one picture DVD.
Your help would be really appreciated!
Thanks!

I think you are on the right track by breaking it down to 2 albums and then trying to burn. How about trying just 1 of those albums and see if that works. If not, try the other one. In other words, something in there might be corrupt, since it works without them. You just have to use process of elimination to find it.
PS - and use RW discs or burn to a DVD folder on your HD so you don't waste DVDs.

Same error exactly but nothing to do with pictures
Hi,
I got that exact same error when rendering a simple video project. I was going for maximum compression and set MPEG bitrate to variable up to 2500 and dropped the dolby digital bitrate to 192. Then I always got that error on a particular project. It rendered fine with other settings. I am also getting VS crashes rendering 200 minutes onto a single DVD with compression, so I'm yet to work out the solutions to these issues.
Do ulead get the crash dumps from microsoft when we elect to send them to microsoft?
Is there a ulead email address we can send detailed crash information to help you guys fix these issues?
Andy

There isn't a limit to the number of videos or slideshows that can be placed onto a DVD disc other than the limit imposed by the size of the DVD disc itself.
Try breaking your project up into small manageable tasks.
Step 1. Create your first slideshow perhaps using this method
VS 9/10: Changing slideshow slides to beat of music
or alternatively
Creating a slideshow
From this create a DVD compliant MPEG2 file.
Now repeat this process to create further MPEG2 files of any other slideshows that you wish to fit onto your completed DVD.
Step2. Now tackle the Movie files. Again do tthem one at a time, do your editing, cuts, fades, titles and so on. Again create a DVD compliant MPEG2 file.
Repeat this process for any further movie files that you wish to include onto your completed DVD.
Step 3. Now that you have prepared all of the necessary MPEG2 files for your slideshows and your movies - start a new project.
Immediately save this new - empty - project with a meaningful name and go to the share tab and select [create disc.]
Add your MPEG2 files created above and now author your DVD.
