I am new to video editing and have recently purchased VS8.
I have successfully captured 1 hour of MiniDV via Firewire and edited it down to approximately 45 minutes, including titles, transitions etc.
When trying to burn to DVD, I am told that the space required is 3.41GB of an available 4.7GB DVD+R.
I thought I could fit 2 hours of video on a 4.7GB / 120min DVD.
Please help !
Length of DVD Video

Hi David
The size of the video file burnt to dvd depends on a few conditions.
The Data Bit Rate controls the amount of info used to produce the video.
Measured in Kb/s
A high bit rate creates a higher quality video at a larger file size.
As a guide:-
A bit rate of 8000 will produce a video 60 mins long (top quality)
A bit rate of 6000 90 mins long (very good quality)
A bit rate of 4000 120 mins long (good quality)
The audio type also effects the file size.
