Auto Music function not working

The Auto Music does not seem to been functioning with my VideoStudio 8.00.0000 software. Clicked the Audio tab in the step panel and then clicked the Auto Music tab. Library: box is blank, Music: box is blank,
Duration and Variation; boxes are blank, " Play selected music, Add to Timeline, Smartsound Quicktracks: all are not active.
Does anyone know what I am doing incorrectly or is this a problem with the software?

Hi

It sounds as though you have not installed correctly, as though you have missed the Quick Track install process.
From what I remember there is a big delay during installation prior to installing the quick tracks.
You may have assumed installation to be complete.
Browse the install folder for a Smart Sound folder.

Run the Full Spectrum 22k.exe

And Quicktracks.exe

I had a similar problem to you - first I ran the "full Spectrum 22.exe" file on the CD - this installed the music files on my hard drive but they were still inaccessible from UVS8. I then tried to run the "quicktracks.exe" file on the CD but got the error message saying that it required the /s parameter so I had to resort to running the file from the 'Start' >> 'Run' box using the command "R:\SmartSound\Quicktracks /s:" where 'R' is my CD-rom drive (note the space before the /s) this ran - (note it appears nothing is happening but watch CD drive light) installation finished started UVS8 and HOORAY all the smartsound works.

Got it working - Thanks to Trevor and Brian for your suggestions.

In addition, I had to initiate Full Sprectrum 22K.exe before the Auto Music feature was fully fundtional.

jkennard, what did you do exactly to initiate "Full Spectrum 22K.exe"? I am having the same problem with Auto Music and following the steps detailed by BrianCee did not help resolve it. I have the QuickTracks plugin installed (shows up in windows 2000 Add/Remove programs list). I also have the music files installed in the "doc settings/all users/app data/Smart sounds" folder. I don't know what else needs to be done. Is there a specific order in which the program patch, QuickTracks plugin & Full Spectrum need to be installed? Plz help!

Same problem but now all is OK
1° check if you have the latest quicktime. you can download it at apple.com. You can't download it alone, it is in a pack with Itunes.
2°In start/control panel/add remove, uninstall smartsounds quicktracks and ulead.
3° before installing again ulead go to smartsound web site http://www.smartsound.com/support/answers/index.php then select "quicktracks for ulead videostudio8" next page select line Nb 3 "smartsound does not work with ulead......"
Note when you install ulead you install quicktracks.
For me after reinstalling UVS, Fullspectum was not correct, some music were missing.
I made a second desinstallation with "suppress plus", reinstall uvs, reinstall fullspectrum and overwrite all the 26 songs and now all is perfect
