How to create a sparkle on this image!

Post by barnie206 »

Can anyone help me with this.. I've been trying for days!!! I'm trying to get a light sort of thing to cross it like this page has on it's logo at the top left - http://www.pokerpoker.ca. I'd also like it to end with a sort of sparkle type idea.. Like a diamond glistening in the light.

If that is to much then just a light flash on it to jazz it up.. Please help a computer dummy :)

Thanks all

Ulead's GIF-X 2.0 plugin would do the trick...

The Scan effect does that... Also check out the tutorials section here:

There may be something there.

Sparkles can either be drawn yourself in GA 5, or can be generated with third-party Photoshop-compatible plugins.

Hmm I tried both of these products but I can't really get it the way I like it. As for the Ulead plug-in how do you even load it? I installed it into the photoshop CS2/plug-ins/effects folder but I dont' know how to further use it. Any help would be huge.

Thanks

In GA 5, click "File, Preferences..."

Image

Click Browse to get to CS2's plug-ins folder and select it. Click okay...

Close GA 5 and reopen it.

Open your animation, and select the appropriate object in the Object Manager.

Click "Filter..." and scroll to "Ulead Effects" and there it will be. Play around with things a bit to see what they do - it's not too hard.

Thanks for the help.

I didn't get it exactly the way I wanted but it works none the less. Much appreciated.

On the "Beam" effect in GIF-X 2, you will see there is a drop-down list at the top right called Mode. Try the "Metal" setting. I bet that's what you're after.

I tried the metal one but it was too big.. I couldn't figure out how to get the width of the beam to be smaller. I think this will work. It's not exactly what I wanted but it's ok. I like things that are not to overbearing and annoy the viewer. I'll update this discussion with the page in a few days time so you can take a look at it. I can't right now because the program has not gone live yet.

The "Range" setting adjusts the width of the beam. The smaller the number, the thinner the beam.
