Ripping Audio From AVI Files - VS 10+

I'm sure this topic has come up before, but I am unable to find it through search.

Is there a way to rip (save) the audio track in an avi file with VS 10+? I have captured my mini DV video and would now like to separate the audio track in order to use a more robust audio editing package.

Yes - just put your video in the timeline and click on the "Share" tab at the top - then choose the "Create Sound File" option.

When you import the modified audio file back into the audio track of UVS just use the 'Mute' button to silence the original soundtrack.
