hi can anyonehelp please ? i have a video which i 4 hrs long and would like to put this to dvd but unsure how much space a 8x 4.7gb disc will hold any advise greatfully recieved

A 4.7 gig disc will hold 4.7 gig (actually about 4.3 gig). The amount of video that you can place on a DVD depends on the bitrate. For a high quality DVD, the bitrate is about 8000kps. This would allow about 1 hr on a single-layer disc. Keep in mind you must also consider the audio bitrate. The total of the video and audio would have to be considered for the amount that can fit onto a disc.
Lowering the bitrate would allow you longer videos. There are bitrate calculators to assist you in determining what the bitrate needs to be to fit 4 hrs of video on a disc.
