Looping background audio of menu

Post by lazael »

Has anyone been able to get the audio to loop without any break ? Turning off fade in/out in MF5 makes no difference.

The MF5 SP1 update introduces this problem with new motion menu logic, as previously posted. To summarize again, maybe catching Ulead's attention...

The MF5 SP1 menu background audio is interrupted by the motion menu video loop, when you choose a menu-in transition.
So in a looping menu, there is an audio interruption after the first few seconds: at about the point where the menu-in transition ends in the first run. This is extremely awkward and makes the DVD appear to be broken.

One way to avoid this is not to use menu transitions. This is stupid because the menu transitions may be the reason you upgraded to MF5 in the first place.

Another approach that may work is by setting a shorter length than the audio clip. You can try this in the meantime (assuming this bug will be fixed):
Add 4 seconds of silence to your audio clip with an audio editor, before choosing it in MF5. If your clip was 26 seconds, you now have 30.
Set 26 seconds for the motion menu length (not 30).
During the first play, there will be no audio during the menu-in transition because it begins with 4 seconds of silence.
Since you chose 26 (not 30) seconds, MF5 SP1 will chop off the beginning, removing the silence, and might no longer interrupt the running audio.
I only tried this once and it seemed to work, but this is not the audio loop I was expecting...
