Kia Orana All (may you live long)
I have searched the forum but can't find an answer.
When I start the MF5 Launcher, I get the start menu, I select Video Disc, New Project. I then get the Create a Video Disc sub menu, so far so good.
I now press OK and get the TBYB Splash Screen, I click Try and get the small Window "ULead DVD MovieFactory" with the blue cubes scrolling left to right, This window stays there for several minutes, then stops no menu for editing movies just back to the start menu?
MF5Plus Version Number 5.30.0107.0. Has anyone successfully run this Trial on Windows XP Pro 64bit?, MF3.5 is running OK on this OS.

I would try to doing a repair install, or just try re-installing it. However make sure you disable any antivirus, spyware etc.. while installing.
Before resulting to a re-install, have you tried shutting down all background applications when you launch DMF5? Do you have any other applications that might conflict with DMF5? You might also try excepting DMF5 from DEP (Data Execution Prevention).
To exempt DMF5 from DEP,:

To exempt DMF5 from DEP,:
- Start>Control Panel>System
- Advanced>Performance
- Click on the Settings button
- Click on the Data Execution Prevention tab
- The bottom of the tab, select the radial button, Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select..
- Click on the Add button, navigate to the DMF5 file that launches it, and add it to the list.

Hi,
I'm also suffering from exactly the same problem, I've downloaded the Free trial from ulead, installed it ok, when I come to run the launcher it works fine but then as soon as I choose to create a new project (DVD format) it just sits there and eventually times out without a reason why.
I made sure DEP excluded the application, I installed with anti-virus turned off, no other spyware tools running either.
I'm running XP SP2, 1GB RAM, 2.8 Ghz CPU, I have Pinnacle Studio installed and that is pretty CPU intensive and works perfectly but it won't use Quicktime MOV files so hence I'm trialing (or wanted to trial) Movie Factory as this allows MOV format.
Any help greatly appreciated as I've tried re-installing this several times with no success.

Re: MF5 Plus Trial won't start
Hi,
Regards,
H.T.
When the small DVDMF window with blue animation running to show up, it's trying to load the audio/video codecs in your system. If it suddenly goes back to the Launcher menu, it means there are some codec packs in the system not compatible with DVDMF and cause DVDMF to close. Can you list any audio/video softwares or codec packs you installed in the system?DJUncleKev wrote:I now press OK and get the TBYB Splash Screen, I click Try and get the small Window "ULead DVD MovieFactory" with the blue cubes scrolling left to right, This window stays there for several minutes, then stops no menu for editing movies just back to the start menu?

You can use Sherlock, a free utitlity that will help you determine what codecs you have installed, and checks to see if any of them are broken.

Any other suggestions guys ?
I've cleaned up the codec issues (as reported by Sherlock) and that now runs cleanly, however the same problem still exists.
Basically, the s/w seems to work the first time you use it, it gets past the launcher then lets you create a project, however when you save it and then try to re-load it the launcher never returns and times out.
If I then try to create a new project from scratch the launcher fails to complete also.
Is there a log file or some other debug I can enable in MF5 to report what or why is having a problem when the launcher doesn't complete ?
Thanks in advance.

There might be some software conflict in your system, however I do not know which software caused the issue....
