Any "controllers" available?

Post by jbarr »

Are there any "controller" accessories that are usable with VS? Specifically, I'm looking for some sort of hardware controller that provides a jog-shuttle, and standard navigation (REW, FF, Pause, Play) functions that cn control VS's functions. Using a keyboard and mouse works, and works well, but being able to more finely control things with a dedicated controller would be so nice. Is something like this available?

I only know a keyboard for Ulead MediaStudio Pro, not sure if it will work with VS.

WorldTech Keyboard for MediaStudio Pro:

Or you can buy a programmable keyboard with speed shuttle and set the keys by using the keyboard software to match the hotkeys in VS. I think the Bella series might be great.

Hope this helps.

The Contour Shuttle Pro and ShuttleXpress plug into a USB port. Each has Jog/Shuttle plus Pro has 15 (5 for Xpress) programmable buttons to apply whatever shortcut keystrokes you need for a given function.

Shuttle Pro

They supported both MSPro and VideoStudio up to version 7 of both out of the box, so with the re-programmable control panel software....

They also support about every other multimedia tool around; AE, Boris etc. etc.

Compatibility list;

VideoGuys has the Pro for $89.95 & Xpress for $49.95;

B&H Photo carries the Pro for $79.95;

Hmmm, not really. I've seen many VERY sophisticated joystick and game controllers that have WAY more functions than I'm describing....

htchien & Terry Stetler, thanks for the info. One or more of those would be just perfect! And they are quite affordable.
