XTREAMLOK

I downloaded the trial of ulead Video Studio. It will not open, an icon appears in the tray for a second that says xtreamlok and then it closes. Any ideas? Thanks.

That's somewhat normal. The xtreamlok wrapper is the time-limiting license manager for UVS. What's not normal is that the program quits immediately. Did you install the UVS trial before? You can't simply uninstall and then reinstall the trial and use it again for another trial period.

Thanks. No, it has never been installed on my PC before. The trial will probably expire before I can get the darn thing to work.

The program shutdown may be intentional. There are plenty of copy-protection schemes that will refuse to execute an application if a debugger is found, or a utility such as Daemon Tools that can be used to mount a harddisk-based file as a virtual CD. In other words, there may be a conflict with something else that is installed on your system.

Thanks, I am done worrying about it and will move on to evaluating other products. I do have a lot of software installed and am not willing to uninstall anything I have to try ULead. Based on all the recent posts I see, there are a lot of headaches with this software. It must have some really good features if people are willing to endure all the headaches.
