Transitions drop in "Create disc" phase

Post by vinandmel »

I have just completed my first project using the Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus software. In the editing phase, my project looks exactly the way I want it to burn, but when I select "Create disc" and preview it many of my transitions are missing. I cannot detect a pattern--they seem to be randomly dropped. Any suggestions?

Two fundamental questions before anything else: did you save your project regularly as you edited? And even more fundamentally: did you complete your project and then select 'Share > Create Video File > DVD' (as you should have)? Or did you jump this stage and go straight from the editing to Share > Create Disc > DVD? If you read the sticky posting at the top of this Board labelled 'Recommended Procedures' you will get a good idea of the work flow we recommend.

If you didn't jump this step, then we will need to know the properties of your clips, your detailed work flow, the project properties and the burn properties if they were different.

Thank you and one more thing . . . ?

Thank you for your help--I had skipped the mpeg step. As a first time video editor/ burner, I misinterpreted the manual. Your assistance and the "Recommended Procedures" were very helpful.

I have another question for you . . .
I am working on another project that exceeds 4.7 GB and found some DVD-R DL's at 8.5GB, which my burner is capable of using. Can I use these discs with the VideoStudio software? If so, can you tell me what setting changes I will need to make?

VS10 can handle dual layer 8.5 GB discs natively. No adjustments to anything are necessary.
