possible to animate text transfer into vs9?

Post by lakewud »

Hi all, just downloaded this impressive package..trial version of course.

Wanting to know, is it possible to create an animated titles ( say..with a few stars ) and then put it into Videostudio 9. Managed to insert a still title...no problems there and then use zoom etc to give it some motion.

What im really after is perhaps a little oomph! to the text..seeing as i plan to make it my 'title piece'..so any dencent ideas on giving it that little life other that a bit of shading here and there.

Finally, while on the subject. Is it possible to perhaps blend in / soften edges / overlap..transparent photographs..place a little text on them too...for making decent looking dvd covers? I see all the buttons on the screen like transparency..but wondering how ( using layers? ) do i place one photo on another.

As this is a trial..time is of an essance..thou i am impressive with the package..and if it is possible to merge photos etc..then would def. be pricing this over say Adobe photoshop.

Any thoughts on any of of these issues?

thanks for the reply. Was aware of these examples thou and doesnt answer my question really. I was referring to tezt complete with the animation lighting for example you can add to text ( i persume )....now, can get a few stars to sit behind etc my text and then import it into vs9 ( works fine, added a zoom onto the text in vs9 and its all ok...thou do have to insert the text as a pic..not as a video..unless im doing it wrong? )

But what i was really after was, for example, having those little stars falling/shining /moving a little behind in front of my text then import that..so at least on screen in vs9 i was a little movement behind a static title.

Is this possible..easliy?...i press all the animate buttons..but again, this being a trial version, dont know enough of the features..thou am very impressed by it so might buy it at one point...IF it can merge/blend photos/overlay pics so i can make a natty dvd cover? is this possible?

cheers

Yes, you can..

In PI create your text with the animated stars. When you click on the Ok button you will notice the options you are presented with. Choose Save Animation File and Create New Object. This will create an animated GIF. Before saving, you will need to increase the number of frames. On the lower right side of the dialogue window, you can preview the animation, add key frames etc.., you see the spin box beside frames. That is where you can set the number of frames the animated GIF will have. Since you are going to use this for video, figure out how long you want the title to play. For example, PAL video standard is 25 fps, so for a 1 sec title you would need 25 frames. If you want a 4 sec title, you need 100 frames.

Now in VS to use the animated GIF title, you will need to select insert video to have all the frames available. If you select insert image, VS will only insert the first frame, and not the rest.

Yes you are able to blend images, overlay pics, and a whale of a lot more with PI. I just completed the free course, PIRC-BW (PhotoImpact Resource Center's Beginner's Workshop. It will have you doing things with PI that you would never think you could do.
